The Growth and Expansion Fund is an annual program designed by the McAllen Chamber of Commerce and the McAllen Economic Development Corporation to foster new business development in McAllen. A prize of $7,500 will be awarded to the applicant that presents the best and more feasible business plan. The competition is specifically for established businesses and for-profit ventures who have been established for at least a year and are looking to apply those funds to grow or expand their existing business.

The Pitch Academy is a 4-day intensive workshop offered and held at the UTRGV Center for Innovation & Commercialization that helps entrepreneurs become pitch ready by helping them understand the challenges of pitching to Angel Investors and raising capital.

The Rafael Munguia Business Plan Competition is an event focused on challenging teams with the task of creating a business plan and concept pitch video aimed at convincing potential investors to finance their business ventures. Have a business plan in your pocket? Apply to win up to $5,000. Up to 10 student and 10 community teams will be selected as finalists, be given mentorship and have the chance to pitch their business plan at the final competition this Spring.
